About the band:
Sun Stereo hails from Urbana, Illinois, delivering a hybridization of organic and electronic elements with Beatlesque vocal harmonies, electronic soundscapes, nu-age story book lyrics, violins, circus-esque performance artist (fire, fan veils, hula hoops) and a funk your face off horn section. Kelly McMorris (music, lyrics, vocals, keys, production) canvassed the gutters and bowels of saloons, discotheques, and opera houses for the perfect concoction of thugs and miscreants to transpire his musical vision. Over the last 6 years, they have developed a fierce following and have established themselves as a must see live show, reminiscent of a wedding reception on acid sans the chicken dance.

They have performed at numerous festivals such as: Mumford & Sons Gentlemen of the Road Tour in Ohio and Illinois, Summer Camp Music Festival, North Coast Music Festival, Taste of Randolph Street, headlining at SOHO Music Festival, Illiac Music Festival, Pygmalion Festival, Merchant Street Festival, Petunia Festival, Sweet Corn Festival, Taste of Champaign, Navy Pier, They have shared the stage with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Eoto, The Wood Brothers, The Apache Relay, Keller Williams, Here Come the Mummies, The Werks, Cornmeal, Mr. Blotto, Digital Tape Machine, Mike Dillon Band, Those Darlins, The Main Squeeze, This Must Be the Band, UV Hippo, J.C. and the Uptown Swing, Way Down Wanderers and Henhouse Prowlers.
