Stroll and Sign Story Time

Join us for Stroll and Sign 2020! We are so excited to be bringing back Stroll and Sign for this summer. Join Communication Junction Thursday mornings at the Peoria Riverfront (Liberty Park - in front of RC Outfitters) for a self-paced stroll along the riverfront - strollers, wagons, baby wearing, scooters are all welcomed!. Then, enjoy a small snack provided by one of our fabulous local sponsors and a short Sign and Sing Story Time with Communication Junction. Expect songs, signs, movement, and of course, bubbles! 

**New for 2020**
Per Restore Illinois guidelines regarding gatherings, Stroll and Sign is unable to be walk-up event. All tickets MUST be purchased in advanced and all attendees must be accounted for in the ticket purchase. Cost is $5/family and additional attendee tickets can be added at no additional cost. 1 Ticket per household please. (grandparents and aunts/uncles will need to purchase an additional family ticket). Tickets must be purchased in advanced at www.signwithcj.eventbrite.com . Max Capacity: 50 individuals.

Meet at the parking lot behind Converse Marketing. Join guide Gary Ebeling as he takes you on a stroll down High Street, first settled by distillers and financiers and others associated with the brewing and distilling industries. You will learn fascinating details about many of the lavish homes found there, from the Easton Mansion/Converse Marketing to the Greenhut Mansion. Continue down the first part of Moss Avenue, one of the first paved streets in Peoria, and home to the second generation of whisky barons.  
• Participants are asked to wear masks during the tour and to socially distance from one another.
• Tours will last approximately 1 ½ hours, unless otherwise indicated.
• Tour fee is $15 per person. 
• Tours will be limited to no more than 8 participants to assure social distancing.
• Participants should feel comfortable walking 1 ½ miles and standing up to 20 minutes. 
• There may be uneven ground at Springdale Cemetery or on public sidewalks. 
• Tours will go rain or shine, except in the case of severe weather. Participants should dress accordingly. If severe weather comes up while a tour is taking place, it may be cut short to ensure the safety of the participants. 
• Cancellations permitted up to 24 hours ahead with full refund or reschedule.

Bloomington based Soft Spoken covers a lot of musical territory: jazz, funk, R&B, soul and blues with the smooth jazz filter set on high. Their sophisticated sound is due to some amazing players: Gary Muhammad-lead guitar/vocals, Mike Gardner-keys/bass/vocals, Myra Johnson-percussion, AJ Chinnery-drums, Kenny Johnson-bass guitar and featuring Jamika Russell-lead vocals. If you’re a smooth operator and enjoy dancing and romancing, you’ll want to experience Soft Spoken.

To keep everyone as safe as possible and to comply with new government guidelines, attendance is limited. Attendees will prepay and may choose a table. If friends plan to share a table, it is advised that one person purchase for the group. BYOB is still in place. Drinks and ice will not be provided. No money will be taken at the door unless we don’t reach our max capacity. Walk-in prices will be more, so purchase ahead of time. Only small tables will be placed. Tables may NOT be moved or moved together as they are spaced 6 feet apart. Except when eating and drinking, masks must be worn when entering, exiting, moving about the room and talking to someone other than those you came with. Performers are required to wear a mask when not performing. Prior to the event, surfaces will be sanitized and sanitizer will be present at the doors.
